This research was important because even though the results did not show the impact of Parents as Teachers, it gave us an opportunity to reflect on why the research produced those results and the implications of that. Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a great program when it is utilized and has been shown to increase kindergarten readiness. However, it seems that the program may not be reaching all of the families that would benefit from it. It should also be considered that the research was not statistically significant, but that was as a result of the small sample size and the sampling group that was used. If PAT can reach all families who want to utilize it, that could make the transition to school much more cohesive for the parents, teachers, and especially the kids.
