Dear Mrs. Davis, 

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a new graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City. I am extremely interested in adult, outpatient mental healthcare and would like to be considered for the PMHNP position at Responsive Centers for Psychology and Learning. 

I started my career as a registered nurse at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. It is there that I honed my assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to efficiently multi-task. I learned how to have hard conversations with parents and work as a part of a multidisciplinary team. Beyond the bedside, I was a leader on the unit. I created the unit's monthly educational staff newsletter, developed a quality improvement committee to  improve parent perception of care, and was an active member of the team that trained new hires. I am excited to use the skills and experience that I acquired during that time to influence my practice as a PMHNP. 

Throughout my time in graduate school I have been compelled by the value of medication as an adjunct to psychotherapy, and I am eager to join a practice where I can help patients work toward their mental health goals using the skills I have learned these last several years. 

I've received positive feedback from patients and preceptors that I'm knowledgeable, analytical, and empathetic. My goal is to provide efficient, high-quality, individualized, and compassionate care to my patients. 

I am hard-working, teachable, eager to grown, and ready to embody the values of your organization in serving your clients. Even though I have just graduated, I know I'll never stop learning. As I begin my career as a PMHNP, I plan to further my education in psychotherapy (specifically CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy). 

I am impressed by the quality of clinicians working for your organization, and because I know you hire great people, I am humbled by the opportunity to be considered for this role.
