1. Freerice

Freerice is a website where someone can answer basic, educational questions. Each correct answer donates 10 grains of rice to someone who needs food. Freerice is a nonprofit and could be used when students need to do something to kill time but has multiple purposes.

2.News-O-Matic

This website is a digital learning solution that provides news, events, politics, and nonfictions articles at different levels. There is also text-to-speak and Spanish translation. 

3. Understanding Race

This website gives the reader a broader understanding of race through a variety of engaging information and activities. It goes over history, human variation, and lived experience. 

4. Educators 4 Social Change

This website has a variety of resources, activities, and lesson plans on a variety of social justice topics. The goal is to prepare civic leaders.

5. Library of Congress: Today in History

This website provides a "day in history" that gives a lot of important information that is not usually taught about history, such as Native American history. There are pictures, captions, and longer writing pieces sharing the information. 

6. "Educators: What You Should Know About Ethnic Minorities in the United States, Part I" by Matthew Lynch

This article goes over ethnic minorities and what is important, essential information to know that is often not really discussed. This helps prepare educators (and others) to be more understanding and inclusive. 

7. "How is Hispanic?" by Mark Hugo Lopez, Jens Manuel Krogstad, & Jeffrey S. Passel

This article explains Hispanic history and meaning behind this label.  The writers navigate this heritage and identity for further understanding and awareness.  

8. SDG Resources for Teachers by UNESCO

There are a variety of pages on a variety of topics, such as poverty, climate, gender equality, and clean water (to name a few). Each page has a variety of information, resources, lessons, etc that help educators teach and include these topics into the curriculum, as well as fuel student interests and prepare them for society.
