The ability to identify social policies at the local, state, and federal levels that influence well-being, service delivery, and access to social services is competency 5. Within my practicum I was able to engage in this competency learning the policies and practice the practicum had in place. I enforce them with clients. I also wrote up incident reports when policies and procedures are violated or not followed. I have mastered implementing rules and policies with residents and when rules and policies are broken, I file appropriate incident reports. In addition, I supported the staff in making decisions about whether a resident could stay or had to leave due to breaking house policies or rules. I feel this skill has allowed me to set boundaries and expectations with my clients.
