From the Social Work Research Methods (5536) course, I feel that the aligned course evidence assignment I feel demonstrates my mastery of competency 4 is the "Does Your Agency Measure Up" assignment. It was my first time engaging in practice-informed research. This assignment allowed us to outline what we would do to determine whether my practicum is doing its part to increase voter engagement in the community. In this assignment, I had the opportunity to consider different approaches to data for research. After reviewing the agency's existing practices for voter registration, I collected data on the agency's efforts to engage voters before, during, and after elections. Through this assignment, I applied theory to practice and practice to inform scientific inquiry and research.
