The aligned course evidence I choose that demonstrates my knowledge of competency 6 is from Week 4 journal entry from my Foundation 1 course. I was able to articulate how I would embody the values of social service and social justice in my future practices.  This journal shows my understanding of the importance of engagement with clients however, I did not speak on how I need to be mindful of understanding how my personal experiences and affective reactions may impact my ability to effectively engage with diverse clients. I keep expressing how my presence would make a difference which is something I now know is not the correct mindset to have, my approach should be seeing what I can do better to be of assistance. 

Week 4: As a social worker, how do you plan to embody the values of service and social justice, as well as standard six (6. Social Workers’ Ethical Responsibilities to the Broader Society)?As a social worker I plan to embody the values of service and social justice by helping people who are in need by providing services, participating in volunteer work that benefits the community I’m serving and the surrounding communities as well that are impacted. I will advocate for social justices by being a part of reform committees and fight against discrimination, oppression, and poverty. As far as the broader society I will incorporate all that I have already states as well as advocating, volunteering, being apart of reform committees and promoting services for in the public to help promote fulfillment of basic human needs.
