  1. What support or constraints does the agency setting have on assessment tool selection/use? (CSWE 7.2 V, A/C) (CSWE 7.4 V, A/C)

UA is required by federal law to implement suicide prevention programs in schools since it is a public school. Therefore, the agency utilizes the Signs of Suicide (S.O.S) program every school year as a supported assessment tool.

  1. Give a specific example of a success or challenge you encountered using an assessment tool.

As part of our suicide prevention and awareness program, I played an integral role at the beginning of the school year. Using the SOS program, I was able to follow up with identified students from the suicide prevention program. The program was able to benefit from my assistance. I helped them find resources and help for their mental health concerns.

  1. What impact has client lived experience and stakeholder perspectives had on your assessment processes? (7.2 V)

The impact of client lived experience has been a focal point for me in advocating for students and challenging administrators to assist them with their mental health needs. Because I can use examples from our clients' experiences, I am better able to fight for the resources needed from the stakeholder perspective.
